In 2017, we discovered this charming fishing village on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua. We’ve come a long way since these days. Long story short:
We came for the waves and stayed for the poeple.
At first glance: black sand, fishing boats, a hill, the sea, waves.
At second glance: warm-hearted people, a vivid and open minded population, a friendly line-up, breathtaking sunsets, incredible surf, charming little restaurants and a strong sense for community.
Also natural tide pools to swim in, a short ascending hike leading to an overview of the ocean and impressive formations of lava rocks sprawling across the beach where the rolling waves join in a crashing dance.
